Yoga in medical perspective
Dr Shikha Aggarwal is MD Nephrologist. She runs a speciality training program in renal medicine. She examines the role of Yoga for Good Health. The following powerpoint (PDF format) presentation was presented by her on the 26th April 2014 at the Spirit Of India graduation ceremony.
Introduction: Dr Shikha Aggarwal Das (MD Nephrologist)
Shikha Aggarwal has completed her MBBS with honours through Monash university in Melbourne. She then completed her junior training and worked as a registrar in the Westmead hospital.
She completed her FRACP examinations through Westmead hospital. Following, which she entered into specialty training in the renal medicine. The training program rotated through multiple metropolitan and rural hospitals in NSW and she is currently working at The Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) hospital in the Nephrology Department. Her work involves managing patients with chronic renal (Kidney) diseases and those undergoing dialysis and kidney transplantation.
Her major interest is in health promotion and disease prevention and today will be talking about this topic and how it relates to yoga. She has also completed this yoga course some years ago. So she has personal experience with Yoga and it’s health benefits.
